Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 October 2026. These terms govern use of cedarkids.buzz and of the museum floor.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Cedar City Children
Museum. By browsing this website, sending a message through the contact form, booking a
building table bay, a birthday room window or a field trip slot, or entering the museum
floor, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use this website and
do not make a booking.
When you act on behalf of a family, a school or a community group, you confirm that you
have authority to accept these terms for that group and that you will share them with the
adults who will attend. A parent or guardian accepts these terms on behalf of the children
in that parent or guardian care.
2. Who We Are
Cedar City Children Museum is a hands-on workshop for children, located at
1102 E Ashdown Forest Rd, Cedar City - 84721-4456, United States (US). The museum runs
building table bays, story circle runs, field trip slot desks, exhibit care reviews,
birthday room windows and volunteer orientations. The front desk can be reached at
note@cedarkids.buzz and on +12515215879.
Throughout these terms, the words we, us and our refer to Cedar City Children Museum, and
the words you and your refer to the person using this website or attending the museum. The
museum works with a developer team on the design of its digital tools, and that team builds
and maintains the booking and message systems described in these terms.
3. Eligibility and Family Responsibility
This website is intended for adults. A person under the age of eighteen should use the site
only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. A booking must be made by an adult who
accepts responsibility for the group and for any payment that the booking requires.
The adult who makes a booking is responsible for the accuracy of the details given, for
passing arrival information to the other adults in the group and for supervising the
children in that group throughout the visit. The museum staff support supervision, but they
do not replace a parent, a guardian or a teacher.
4. Use of This Website
You may use this website to learn about the museum, to review our services and to contact
the front desk. You agree to use the site lawfully and in a way that does not interfere with
its operation or with the use of the site by anyone else.
- Do not attempt to gain access to a part of the site that is not intended for public use.
- Do not send a message that is abusive, threatening, misleading or unlawful.
- Do not attempt to automate form submissions or to overload the server with requests.
- Do not copy the site content for a commercial purpose without written permission.
- Do not use the contact form to send unsolicited advertising or bulk mail.
We may suspend access to the website for maintenance or for a security reason. We aim to
keep the site available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we are not liable
for a temporary outage that is outside our reasonable control.
5. Content on the Site
The text, layout, colours and service descriptions on this website are provided for general
information. We work to keep the information accurate, particularly the details of opening
hours, prices and service availability, but a page may occasionally fall out of step with
the current schedule. The front desk confirmation for a booking always takes priority over a
general statement on the site.
Where the site describes a service such as a story circle run or an exhibit care review, the
description explains what the service normally involves. It is not a promise that every
element will be identical at every visit, because the floor adapts to the age of the group,
the weather and the condition of the materials on the day.
6. Bookings and Reservations
A booking is made when the front desk confirms it in writing. A request sent through the
contact form or left by telephone is an enquiry, not a confirmed reservation. The desk will
reply with a proposed slot, and the slot becomes firm when you accept the proposal.
A confirmed booking lists the service, the date, the start time, the finish time, the number
of children and the name of the steward who will meet the group. If any of those details
needs to change, contact the desk as early as possible. We will try to accommodate a change,
but a new slot may depend on what remains open on the floor.
The museum may decline or cancel a booking if the request cannot be met safely, if a group
exceeds the capacity of a bay, or if a previous booking was repeatedly missed. In that case
the desk will explain the reason and, where a payment has been made, will follow the
refund procedure in these terms.
7. Fees, Deposits and Payment
General admission and most drop in services are paid at the front desk on the day of the
visit. A birthday room window and certain group bookings may require a deposit to hold the
slot. The desk will state any fee and any deposit before a booking is confirmed, so that
there is no surprise on arrival.
A deposit is applied to the total for the booking. If the booking is cancelled within the
period stated in the section on cancellation, the deposit is refunded or moved to a new
date at the choice of the person who booked. Payments made through an outside payment
service are subject to the rules of that service, and the museum receives only the
confirmation and the reference number for the booking.
If a payment is reversed without a valid reason, the desk may cancel the booking and may ask
for an alternative payment before a new slot is offered. All fees are stated in United
States dollars.
8. Cancellation and Rescheduling
A family or a school may cancel a booking or ask to move it to another date. Please tell the
desk as early as you can, because a released slot can then be offered to another family.
The desk will confirm the change in writing, and the confirmation is the record that the
change took effect.
A deposit held for a birthday window is refunded when a cancellation reaches the desk at
least seven days before the window. A cancellation inside that period may forfeit the
deposit, because the room has already been staffed and prepared. A field trip slot operates
on the same principle, with the notice period confirmed when the booking is made.
If the museum must cancel a booking, for example because of a safety repair, a heating
failure or severe weather, the desk will offer a new date or a full refund of any payment
already made. We will contact the person who booked as soon as the need to cancel becomes
clear.
9. Arrival, Late Arrival and Departure
Please arrive a few minutes before the confirmed start time so that the group can be checked
in and briefed without eating into the play time. A steward will meet the group at the front
desk at 1102 E Ashdown Forest Rd. For a field trip, the teacher should bring the head count
and the arrival list to the desk.
If a group arrives late, the desk will fit the visit into the remaining time where that is
possible. A late arrival does not extend the booking, because the floor is scheduled in
sequence and another group may follow. If the delay is large, the desk may need to shorten
or reschedule the visit and will explain the options at the time.
At the end of a visit the group should gather at the colouring wall so that the block count
can be completed. The steward logs the result of the count and closes the bay. A group that
leaves without a count may be asked to wait a moment while the steward checks the trays.
10. Code of Conduct on the Floor
The floor is a shared playroom, and every visitor helps keep it calm, clean and kind. We ask
adults and children to treat the stewards, the other families and the materials with
respect. Rough play that endangers another child, throwing of blocks, climbing on shelves
and damage to an exhibit are not permitted.
- Walk on the floor and use the bays at the table where they are set up.
- Keep food and drink in the snack area, away from the block trays and the colouring wall.
- Return blocks and props to the tray at the end of a session, with a steward if help is needed.
- Follow the direction of a steward during a story circle, a rotation or an emergency drill.
- Speak to a steward at once if something is broken, spilled or unsafe.
A steward may ask a visitor to change behaviour, to pause a session or to leave the floor if
conduct puts someone at risk. We prefer to solve a problem quietly and early, and we will
always explain the reason for a direction.
11. Children and Supervision
A child must be accompanied by an adult throughout a visit. The museum does not provide
drop off care, and a steward cannot take responsibility for a child who is left without an
adult. For a school group, the ratio of adults to children is agreed at booking and is
stated on the confirmation.
Please tell the desk about any medical condition, allergy or accessibility need that a
steward should know before the visit. We will keep the note confidential and will prepare
the floor so that the child can take part safely. The museum keeps a basic first aid kit on
site and will call emergency services if a situation requires it.
12. Museum Property and Block Counts
The blocks, planks, crayons, colouring sheets and props on the floor belong to the museum
and are shared by every visitor. The block count at the end of a session protects that
shared supply. A piece that leaves the floor cannot be used by the next child, so we ask
families to help keep every tray complete.
If a piece is accidentally taken home, please return it at the next visit or tell the desk.
If museum property is deliberately damaged or removed, the museum may ask the responsible
adult to cover the cost of replacement and may limit future bookings. Any charge for repair
or replacement will be explained in writing before it is applied.
13. Photography and Recording
Families often take photographs of their own children on the floor, and that is welcome. A
photograph that includes another child should not be published without the permission of
that child parent or guardian. A steward may ask a visitor to stop recording if the
recording would disturb a story circle or if another family has objected.
The museum may take photographs for its own records or for a display on the floor. We will
not publish an image of an identifiable child on this website or on a public channel
without written permission from a parent or guardian. A signed permission can be withdrawn
at any time by writing to note@cedarkids.buzz.
14. Volunteers and Orientation
A volunteer who joins the museum takes part in a volunteer orientation before a first
shift. The orientation covers the block count routine, the colour pot check, the story
circle setup and the way we speak to children and families. A volunteer agrees to follow
the floor rules, to arrive for the agreed shift and to report a concern to a steward.
A volunteer role is not employment and does not create a contract of employment. The museum
may end a volunteer arrangement if the floor rules are not followed or if the arrangement no
longer fits the schedule. Volunteers may end the arrangement at any time by telling the
desk, and we will thank them and record the hours already given.
15. Liability and Risk
Play carries a small amount of ordinary risk. A child may trip, bump a table or drop a
block. The museum keeps the floor in good condition, inspects its exhibits and trains its
stewards, but it cannot remove every risk from a playroom. By accepting these terms you
accept that ordinary play carries ordinary risk.
To the extent that the law allows, the museum is not liable for indirect or consequential
loss, for loss that is not a foreseeable result of a failure on our part, or for a loss
caused by a visitor who does not follow the code of conduct. Nothing in these terms limits a
liability that cannot be limited by law, including a liability for death or personal injury
caused by negligence.
16. Indemnity
If a claim, a loss or a cost arises because a visitor breaks these terms, damages museum
property or harms another person on the floor, the responsible adult agrees to indemnify
the museum against that claim to the extent the law permits. We will tell the responsible
adult promptly if such a claim arises and will cooperate in a reasonable response.
This section does not apply to a claim that is caused by the museum own failure, and it does
not require an adult to cover a loss that the museum could reasonably have prevented
through proper care.
17. Intellectual Property
The name Cedar City Children Museum, the text and layout of this website, and the design of
the building bays, colouring sheets and story circle materials are the property of the
museum or are used with permission. You may view and print a page for personal use, and a
teacher may print a colouring sheet for a class visit.
You may not copy the website or the museum materials for a commercial purpose, present them
as your own, or use the museum name in a way that suggests a partnership that does not
exist. A request for permission can be sent to note@cedarkids.buzz and will be answered in
writing.
18. Privacy and Data
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect information. It forms part of
these terms, and you should read it together with this page. The policy describes the
information held at the front desk, the small amount of technical information recorded by
the website and the rights that you can exercise over a record.
A question about privacy, or a request to see or correct a record, can be sent to
note@cedarkids.buzz or raised with the front desk on +12515215879. Please include the name
used at booking and the date of the visit so that we can locate the record quickly.
19. Changes to These Terms
We review these terms each year and whenever a service changes. When a material change is
made, we update the date at the top of this page and post a short note on the homepage so
that a returning visitor can see what changed. A change applies to a new booking once it is
posted.
If a change affects a booking that is already confirmed, we will tell the person who booked
by email before the change takes effect. If you do not accept an updated term, you may
contact the desk to discuss the booking before the visit.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Utah and the applicable law of the
United States, without regard to a conflict of laws rule. If a dispute arises, we ask you to
contact the front desk first so that we can try to resolve the matter directly and quickly.
If a dispute cannot be resolved through discussion, it may be brought before a court of
competent jurisdiction in the State of Utah. Before any formal step is taken, both sides
agree to make a genuine effort to settle the matter in good faith, and each side will keep
the relevant records for that purpose.
